USITC to Examine Exports by Small and Medium-Sized U.S. Enterprises

In a December 7, 2009, press release, the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) announced that it has launched the third of three studies that will examine the extent and composition of U.S. exports by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and factors that may disproportionately impede U.S. SME exports. This report, U.S. Exports from Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises: Characteristics and Performance, will report on the characteristics of SMEs that export services, the growth in exports of services, and differences between large firms and SMEs that export services. The Commission will hold a public hearing in connection with this investigation in Washington, DC, on February 9, 2010. (The public hearing will be held concurrently with the public hearing in Commission investigation No. 332-509, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises: U.S. and EU Export Activities, and Barriers and Opportunities Experienced by U.S. Firms.) To submit a request to appear at the public hearing or send a written comment, please see the USITC notice.
